Ectopic Pregnancy
In ectopic pregnancy the word “Ecto” – outside location/Place which means something that is situated outer part or surface. When a egg which grows in uterus during normal pregnancy starts growing at different place i.e. in a fallopian tube. This isn’t where the baby is supposed to grow, so it can cause problems. The tube can stretch and possibly burst, which can lead to pain and bleeding.
Some of the abnormal pregnancies goes on without displaying signs and symptoms which could be more fatal and now a days leading to fetal mortality, maternal morbidity, mortality.
Intake of contraceptive pills, Multiple abortions, advanced maternal age are not only at risks for abnormal pregnancies
else this type of pregnancy can occur at any age group.
It could lead to infertility, failure of IVF’s, abnormal results.

- As soon as you have 7 days overdue missed periods need to visit gynecologist to rule out pregnancy.
- Antenatal checkups to be taken with consultation from your doctor.
- Regular visits to be done for tests and investigations during pregnancy to rule out any complication.
- No medicine, any bleeding or any abnormality must be clarified by your doctor.
